Night Girl By: Karin

It was one o’clock in the morning. I heard the music behind me. It was really noisy because Ayaka turned on the music by accident when she is sleeping. I quickly

woke up. When I heard the music and “What was going happen?” I whispered to Shion.

A few seconds later she answered, “I have no idea.” But music was still on. It was New Year’s Day and we were staying at Japanese Style Inn. Lot’s of trees and mountains were there. There were snow every where so it was white all over the place, and it was really beautiful, and freezing cold.

That night, Ayaka’s mom came to our room. Then my mom came too. Maybe because they heard the music from our room, 223. They both were angry. And my friend’s mom had the other key to our room, so if we locked the door, they could come anytime they wanted. I wondered why they were angry. “Get out of here and go to the lobby and stay there!!” Ayaka’s mom said.

Before that day we went lobby to asked for a extra key to our room 223, because we thought if there is extra key to our room 223, it might be useful or if we lose the first key we can use that second key. And also Kai asked for a extra key too. And we traded our key for the key nextdoor.

Ayaka , Shion and I went to the empty room. The three of us were busy talking about ghosts. We were so frightened and scared so we held each others hands. We didn’t know it but, the room next-door could hear our voices. We forgot to close the door completely so it was opened a little bit that no one could saw it. Our friend Kai was in the room next door and she knew we were talking. Ayaka, Shion and I were still talking about ghosts so we were really scared . Suddenly we heard someone tapping under the table so Ayaka looked under there. Someone slowly lift their head up. It was Kai. Her face again slowly came out of the table then she whispered

“Boo!” and Ayaka, Shion and I were scared out of our wits, but we didn’t scream. Because if our mothers heard us screaming they would get really angry because we supposed to be in the lobby. Kai came out from under the table and she couldn’t stop laughing.

After that, we went back to our room because we had the key a key that could open any door and Kai came with us and she opened for us. It was 1:30 in the morning when we saw the clock as we went in and we were a little tired from laughing so much.

The next morning, we got up at 7:00 A.M. and we went to Kai’s room. Our mothers didn’t get up until 7:30 in the morning.

We were kind of lucky because we could have been in big trouble. I ran down the hall with my friends. We tiptoed quietly. We started to play……..

Skippy By Sarah

Skippy

By: Sarah

“ Ring ring ring” the bell rang, for the end of school. 20, 40, 50 lots and lots of kids were hurrying out of their classes. Also, I was one of those kids. I ran and ran so I could feel the cold air slapping against my ears. Wright down the corner was finally my house. When I reached my house, I flicked off my shoes, and slammed the door behind me.

But when I went deeper and deeper into my house, it also went quieter and quieter. Finally, when I reached the living room, it was silent. Though the silent was scary, that wasn’t the thing that scared me. The thing that scared me was what I saw gone.

Gone. Skippy’s fish tank was gone. I scanned around the room real fast. I couldn’t see any fish on the carpet or on the floor. I looked once more. But this time, I saw my mom washing the fish tank at the corner of my eyes.

I ran to the bathroom speedy quick. I looked in the sink (we put Skippy in the sink when we wash his cage). Still, I couldn’t see Skippy. I got a weird feeling in my stomach that I usually get when I am very worried. I walked to my mom with my shoulders down.

I think my mom saw my watery eyes. Because when she saw me, she hugged me. “where is Skippy mommy?” I was really worried and scared at that right moment. I had a feeling that something was very wrong.

My mom spoke up and said “dead… Sarah, I am sorry to tell you that Skippy died this morning.” My brain froze, and everything was a blur for a second. ‘dead how is that even possible? He was fine this morning? How did he die?’

The next thing I was doing, was crying. Tears fell continuously out of my eyes like water falls. I slowly dragged my feet to my room. I couldn’t imagine seeing Skippy dead. It would be a terrifying sight if I actually saw him dead.

My mom came into my room. She sat down on my bed, and said “Sarah it will be fine again soon. We can always get you another goldfish if you want.” Then my mom kissed me on the cheeks, and went out of the room.

But, I didn’t want another goldfish. I wanted Skippy. I let out a long sobbing, and crying. After, I felt a little better. My mom told me that crying was the best way to get away sadness. And again she was right.

At dinner, we didn’t say anything. My brother finally broke the silence and (Kevin) asked me how Skippy died. I was a little mad at him for bringing the topic up but I didn’t cry. My eyes just got wet and I just shrugged.

I was only 5 then, so I basically forgot about Skippy for at least 2 years. But when I was moving to Thailand, I was photo sorting with my mom. Then I found a picture of me and a goldfish in a plastic bag. And at that right second, I remembered everything about that goldfish.

Great Visit by Pauline!

Great Visit by Pauline

One summer night, at my house, I was in my bed worried about the next day, because at last I would go to visit my old school.  I had been a student there for about 8 years until my parents moved me to ISB!  I was worried about my friends, that they would be mad at me, because we had a deal already that we would graduate from this lovely school together.

My pajamas smelled like spoiled butter and dusty flour, because I had been working hard earlier that night to bake the sugar cookies for my friends, which are their favorite.  As I was laying in bed, I close my eyes and traveled, back to my old school, playing and laughing with my beloved friends.  We were jumping rope, playing at the playground, playing tag and hide and seek.  Then I travel again, and again.  Eventually, my eyes began to fell heavy and I fell asleep.

The next day came very fast as I slowly climbed out of my bed and headed to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I took my toothbrush and squeezed the tooth paste out.  After I finished brushing my teeth,
I zoomed down the staircase and went into the kitchen.  I put the toast into my mouth speedy quick.  I gently took the cookies from the tray into the bucket and went outside.  I went to see my hamster and said goodbye to him.  My father was waiting for me to get into the car so I quickly ran into the car as I said bye bye to my dogs.

It was about 7:25 in the morning, when we arrived at my old school. I took the cookies and got out of the car.   Then I met my friends.  Suddenly I felt that something was in my eyes it was my tears.  I wiped it out and gave my cookie to my father. Then I walked toward them.  They were surprised about seeing me, because I hadn’t told them that I will come.  They were running toward me as I walked to them. And again, they were yelling and shouting so I ran to them, and that’s made us bumped together.   As we helped each other stand up, my face got a little red.

I talked to them about ISB.  Their saliva kept on coming out of their mouths as I told them about lunch at ISB.

At last, it was time for COOKIES!  I put them on their desks when they were out for Art.  I turned around and around to make sure that no one was there, so I put the cookies in my mouth. As I was waiting, I met my entire teachers and gave them cookies.  After that, the bell rang very very loud like a thunder as I ran back to G.5.  I told them about how I made the cookies and went out side for break.

We sat at the school garden to share our information about what was going on at ISB and about the weirdest subject we ever saw, and they told me about what was happening at this school.  After a great conversation has end, the bell rang. Then we said good bye.  I went to the library, as my friends were going back to the classroom.

I was waiting and waiting in the library, until I found something to do. The librarian who was very close to me was tidying some cartoons from my grandparents’ house. There was Tons of it! So I immediately went there and read.  After I read for about 1 hour, I felt bored.  So I went to cafeteria and talk to them and they are very close to me too.

After a while, the bell rang.  I went to the library to get my lunch box.  Then I waited and waited at the table.  ‘When could they come? Are they taking there lunch box? Are they being punished? Or could they in the toilet?’ I kept on thinking and waiting until……! BOO at that moment, I shouted the word Ahhhhhhhhhhhh~~~.  My sound were being spread out that all the people at the cafeteria   turned their faces and looked at me kind of angry. (OH MY GOD!) Then my lovely little Ploy and mini  Benya helped me to tell the other to clam down.

We were talking and eating at the same time and that made us a little problem, the teacher who teach the social studies, was cutting our points but so I quickly told him that I had move away so that he could not cut my point out..  Then he walked away and that’s make us a high-5.
*please don’t do this in real life*

‘‘Don’t worry I will be at your side and I won’t be mad at you okay?’’ Ploy said as I told her about last night when I thought that she would be mad at me.  And that’s very change my mind.

We finished our lunch and went to play UNO cards that I bought at the front of school office.  After the first game nearly to finish, the bell rang as I quickly cheat the game, when my friends were paying attention to the bell.

Then Ploy and Benya yelled that they could be in trouble if they didn’t go now so we hug each other, after that we said goodbye and of they went.  I went into the office and waited.  After a while, my mom came as I grab my lunch box and went into the car.  I told my mother about what happened ~ it was wonderful and I will never forget it.~

•Home! Sweet Home• by Angie

Home! Sweet Home…

‘Not today! Not today!’ I thought to myself. It was the day to move. I was in the car looking outside the window, the excitement came through my stomach, up to my eyes. I was thinking about my new bedroom. When the car drove off, I turned and looked at my sister. She was crying like a 3 years old kid.

Now the car was parked. I excitedly slammed the car door shut. I ran to the front and the door was locked, I pushed and pulled and shook and kick, but it still didn’t opened. A few minutes later, my mum came up to me and unlocks the door. I thought to myself looking down and closed my eyes. ‘My own new room, big, wide, totally perfect.’ “Okay!” my mum said. She opened the door, and I tried to run in. I felt itchy in my stomach and it started to rise up to my hands. The house was absolutely empty. ‘That is not your dream, Angie!” I thought to myself, rubbing my eyes. I rubbed and rubbed. I ran outside to see the house and scanned around. It was perfect except the inside of the house. Then I ran back in again.

All of a sudden, my eyes hallowed into my skull, and froze. Then my head took me back in the time I was in my bedroom sketching a picture of a new room. But now the room I’ve been dreaming about was all fake. “Ouch!” I said quietly. It was my mum poking me on my back. She took me outside to see the village so that I can meet some new friends. And so I did.

Play Date on the 7th Floor by Erika

Play Date on the 7th Floor

By: Erika

I ran to the front to catch the ball that my friend threw hard to me, and quickly threw hard to the other side where my friend was. I stood there waiting for the ball to come to my side. Quickly, quickly, quickly, I thought to my self. We screamed while playing dodge ball on the 7th floor. I was having lots of fun until my sister came to play with us. Not today, not today, not today, not today…… I was thinking that the whole time. I hope she wouldn’t get mad at me today. I didn’t want her to play with my friends because we were having such a fun time, and I thought I wouldn’t have a fun time if Sayaka came to play with us. I liked to play with Sayaka, but not today, not now.

My friends and I hid behind a wall, so the ball wouldn’t hit us but nobody cared. But there was one person who cared about it, and it was Sayaka. Sayaka’s face looked like as if she was getting mad. I closed my eyes, “No, no, no. Not today!” I whispered.

“What are you doing, Erika!” my sister, Sayaka shouted very loud like a wild animal. I didn’t like it when she got mad at me because we always argue. I came out from behind the wall, and I went closer to Sayaka. “Why are you mad at me? Yuki is doing the same thing! You are always only mad at me! I don’t like it…, it’s not fair! But don’t be mad at me when I’m playing here with my friends!” I shouted as loud as I could. I was so mad. I will have to go back inside again… I thought to myself. When I was going to put on my shoes, Sayaka opened her mouth. I sighed and looked at her. She will shout aloud… I said to myself. I just want to cry, but not in front of my friends. I was waiting for Sayaka to scream at me again. A few seconds later, she sighed like she is copying me.

“Aren’t you going to scream at me now?” I asked, and standing, waiting for her to answer. It feels like 30 seconds, 2 minutes, maybe 5 minutes. Sayaka and I were still looking at each other.

“I just want to say that I am mad at you because you are my sister, and you know that already!” When I said something, she always shouted back to me, and today too. I didn’t surprise about it. I just standing, but I quickly put on my shoes and said sorry to my friends, and go back to my home.

I think today why Sayaka got mad, I think it was my fault. I thought I never do that because I don’t want Sayaka to be mad and I think I thought that is because I still like her even if she gets mad at me.

Something Smells Fishy by: Katy

One night, after dinner, all of us wanted to go to a shop in South Padre Island except for my dad and my uncle. I was really excited when we got there, because I had been waiting for a long time.

It took about 1 minute to get there from our house. When we got there, there were a lot of things such as shells, piggy banks, clothes, rings etc. I wanted to get a shirt so I looked at the shirts and picked out a red shirt, then I looked at a design to go on the shirt. I put them together and imagined myself in the shirt and then I tried it on, and thought to myself “I look good”. Then my grandpa got me a ring with a “K” on it for Katy because it was my birthday in a couple of weeks. We went back to the house to get ready for bed.

When we got back to the house, my cousin and I went into our room. Into our closet to get our pajamas but we saw something in our closet that didn’t belong! So, we looked at it closer and it smelt like fish. We were really confused! Also, it looked like it was long, big and bumpy and black. In my mind, I was asking myself “What is it? Whose is it? Who put it in our closet? Why is it in our closet and not in anybody else’s closet?” I was curious. So, we called our parents from our room. They came in and we showed them the unusual thing in our closet. My aunt said it might have been the fish wrapper from the fish we ate but I wondered why it was in my closet.

We all thought a while then I finally said “It was probably Uncle Scott”. He always plays pranks, tricks and likes to be silly.

“Now we can get this messy, stinky thing out of here”, my cousin said. Then we all looked at Uncle Scott and he grabbed the wrapper and threw it away outside. Then I asked “How are we going to get this nasty, stinky, messy smell out of our closet?”

“We can maybe light a candle to get the smell away”, my aunt said. So we all looked at each other and nodded as an “ok”. So after, we lit a candle and went to hang out.

My girl cousins, Kelly and Kerrie, also Aunt Brooke and I hung out. We found these candies that tasted awful so we went to Uncle Scott and told him that they were super and sooooo good so he ate one then he spat it out. Also, while his head was turned, we put another one of those candies in his beer as a pay back from the fish!!!! Then he turned back again and drank the beer then ate the candy without knowing!!

The Real Pain by Leo

The Real Pain

By Leo

Early before the bell rang, I was preparing for recess Since Mr. Lamont always lets us out early. I quickly finished the multiplication problem and checked it with adding. I also finished the ticket to recess so I put my math notebook into my desk and waited for Mr. Lamont to dismiss us.” the table at the end, your dismissed said Mr. Lamont. I took my red hat and flung open the door. Just when I was about to take off…”is this pencil yours?” Mr. Lamont asked

“No it isn’t,” I answered and I jumped the rest of the stairs. Slowly turned my head around curiously and wondered what Mr. Lamont will do to me. I saw Mr. Lamont shrugged and disappeared thought the gray door. Because the sun is high, I pulled my hat down over my eyes, a little bit. There cooper is, standing n the middle of the green, grassy, muddy field. One hand stretched as high as he could wave. I was Cooper; I thought he must be happy because I saw a smile on his face. The other hand, tucked on his waist, holding a brown football that is about 7.3 in long. And had stitch like marking on it. I quickly ran towards him. Cooper waited for Ben and, another classmate, and took me and been and told him to stay there. Ben took the ball and threw it thought his legs. Copper caught it. I watched in curiosity,

“Now I am QB and been is the Hiker,” Cooper said, I slowly nodded, wondering what he would teach me next, “Alright let the game begin” I imagined myself running thought all the people and touchdown.

Other kids came rushing to the field, cooper picked the team leader. I got picked and here are some of my teammates: Matt, Cooper, Sunny, and Ben. Since our team got the good people, we kicked first. Cooper kicked the ball higher and higher. I watched in amazement’s took my hand and made auto into a shape of telescope and trying to locate the ball. I landed hard, and the ball went bounding all around like a rabbit finally someone picked it up. Though, he did not catch it well. It went straight through his hands. I watched Matt dive for the ball. Matt got the ball though but he did not catch it well because the ball was wobbly. But he got talked right away.

Cooper put a rotation of hiker. Cooper put me first and Ben second. I put the ball down and quickly threw the ball, I got up and went to the far end I saw Cooper threw it to Matt, Michael hurdled to matt and tackled, just when he was about to plunge towards Matt, Matt quickly took a sidestep and letting him out of bounds. I watched the act and thought: maybe I should go and help. I ran back from the far end to the end where everybody is and stood behind Matt

Next to tackle is Parker, but Cooper already blocked him, Cooper grabbed Parker and wrestled Parker Cooper sent Parker plunging to the ground.” his kid talked to hard” whispered Parker I didn’t look but I hearted parker. Matt laterals the football to me and I ran, dodging all the people “oof” I cried Parker grabbed me in the collar and yanked me back, I did not let go of the ball just in case parker caught the ball before it hit the ground. “Second down” cried Cooper I hulled and looked at my back. “Yuck” I screamed.

I walked forward and stood barely over the line of scrimmage. Cooper did not pass it to me, instead he faked it to me and while Matt was wide opened, in less that a second, cooper threw it to Matt, I saw Matt twisted his body and ran faster and faster, just the, Parker blocked Matt’s way. I quickly ran in front of Matt and blocked Parker, Matt sidestepped and ran like a half circle, just then, I lost grip of Parker and Parker slide talked Matt, I saw Matt jump and rolled over.” Second down!” cried Cooper.

I hiked it to Matt, he walked about 2 steps and he stretched his arms as long as he can, he placed the brown football on the dirty grounds, as hard as a hammer whamming on the ground. THUD! Matt landed hardly. “Touchdown! “Cried cooper. Matt’s team yelled happily

Cooper gave another kickoff and the ball went straight to Michael, Michael with a yelp caught the ball and went straight to me, I quickly raised my hand to block, with a yelp, Michael dropped the ball. I tried to catch it but the ball but it slid out of my hands. Catch it! I thought. Every one was staring at me. BRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGthe bell and we all got out of the field.” you both did well; you both are in a different team Aim on next time.”

I looked at Ben and Ben looked at me.”Oh, oh.”

Scorpion Story by: Mary

“A, A, A, A!” people screamed as they rode the rollercoaster’s, it sounded scary, I was thinking maybe I shouldn’t go on. There where rollercoaster every where I look, here and their but I was going on the one right in front of me. It was red and it even had a luptilop, it was “The Scorpion”

Before I left home I check my height to see if I was tall enough (I have memorized the height I need to be.)And I was tall enough. “I am so excited!!” I said a myriad of times. I was very excited; my heart was pounding faster and faster as I walked closer to the rollercoaster. I could image myself on the rollercoaster with my hands in the air, and my hair flying back. I could even see a smile on my face.

“YES!”I replayed. We were walking through the maze of bars to get to the huge automatic red gate. I saw the rollercoaster cart rolled in slowly as it rolled in I saw the people’s faces with SHOCK! As they got out on the left side, me and my mom got in on the left. We were almost in the middle of the cart. I fastened my seat as tight as I could ad then they put the bar down on my lap so I don’t fall out.

I heard a man that I couldn’t see say” fasten your seat belts.” and the count in my head begun 1,2,3,4,5…, I made it up to 13 and then the cart lifted off to the top of the rollercoaster. Suddenly it was starting to drop; as it did it dropped all the way and was fast as lighting. I was screaming so hard. My lungs were gasping for air. Oh no I thought here it comes the loptilup. I was very frightened I am scared of looptilups. My heart was still racing, so fast I could not feel it. My hair was hanging up side down and my hands were like jelly floppy an not stoppable .That didn’t last long the coaster was so fast it felt like a second and it was so fast all my hair came in my face then flew back.

Right now it felt like I was crying because my eyes were watering, it was hard to see because it hurt my eyes.

Finally the ride came creeping in were I got in it. I unfastened my seat belt and I could hear the man in the background saying “please unfasten your seat belts and exit out the left side of the ride, thank you!”

“Did you like it?” my mom asked me. I looked at her then I could feel a huge smile stretch across my face!

Scared By A Car by: Kentaro

I was in second grade, with my friend Koki who was in the same class as me. Koki and I always played together. As usual we were playing together. Today was going to be the most exciting day of my life. I was going to have a bicycle race with Koki!

“Come on let’s do this. I’m so going to win this bicycle race,” I said with a loud voice. Koki was moving his tongue left to right I thought that he was thinking he would win. But in my head, as I said it loud I thought that I will win.

I put my leg on the other side of the bicycle. The race started as I said, “Ready set go!” I was riding my bicycle faster the Koki. The first curve was in front of me waiting. I turned my bicycle left. Koki also turned his bicycle left after I went. The curve was easy to do. But there was the next curve that was bumpy. I quickly got an idea. Idea for using the Small shortcut. I imagined looking behind at Koki, and saying bye bye. I went to the left side of the road. There it was the small shortcut. I looked behind. Koki was smiling. But I smiled back at him and went to the shortcut.

“Bye bye,” I said to Koki. He didn’t have smile on his face anymore. He had shown me the face he should have. He was trying to think, why I was going this way. Now I couldn’t see him.

I heard a loud engine sound that might have been from the car. I was wondering if that car was coming from where I was trying to go. I heard the engine get louder and louder. When I saw a curve I went slower. I could still hear the engine sound getting louder. I was wondering ‘where is Koki right now?’ I stopped and looked right and left. No car, but still I heard something. When I rode fast the silver car came from the left side where I was trying to go. I can’t die now. I saw my bike found toward the car. Hit by a car. My mom, dad and my sister crying. I know how important I am for my parents.

I fell down side ways. The silver car was still driving and the car had a powerful speed and powerful engine sound. Then the car just went and had big horn sound. I saw my knee with big cut and red blood. Koki was next to me saying something.

‘Are you okay?” asked Koki. I had tears coming out of my eyes. When I came back to my house I told what happened. My mom was so surprised. I will never, never, never, play bicycle race in the road.

Hide in the Bathroom By: Juhyun

I thought…

I smiled…

I had a plan of hiding in the bathroom until the end of school.

It was the first day of being in ISB. I was so shy, and couldn’t speak in English at all. But I could understand a little. Again I started thinking of the concept of hiding safely in the bathroom. I wanted to hide in the bathroom because I was so shy and didn’t want to speak with friends. I was worried how I was going to ask.

I knew bathroom and go in English. So I thought “may I go to the bathroom” was “go bathroom”.

Also there was another part that made me anxious the bad part was that I didn’t know where the bathroom was. While thinking, I put my head down. But I just ignored that problem. That problem wasn’t easy to solve. After a few seconds, I went to my teacher, Mr. Arnold and asked, “go bathroom”. When I asked, I got a feeling that he might not understand. But the teacher answered “Jake and Jacob will lead you”. At first I didn’t know who Jake and Jacob were, but since they stood up I knew. So I could fallow them.

Slowly, three people went toward the bathroom. Then after a few seconds we arrived. I pretended to rush into the bathroom to make the friends not think I am faking it. After that I looked back to see if they went back to class. All they were doing was just staring at me! I pretended I wasn’t surprised at all(I was very surprised). That made me feel as doing a crime. At first I didn’t know what to do. But with some thinking, I decided that I should get out. So I did. Then I imagined what would happen next year in 1st grade.

While I was going back, I thought that I should have asked may father where the bathroom was. This seemed like a dream that my first school was an international school. Right that moment I wanted to quit school but there was no way I could quit school.
